Why wouldn't I? It's not like I'm comparing Hercule Poirot and Sherlock Holmes. Never mind the setting, it's the same deal. Only BBC feels a bit... Brainier.

If there's two things you could compare, it's this... same characters, type of stories, etc.

Richie's is mindless, absurd, and makes Holmes into an action hero with convoluted stories. The BBC series is extremely intelligent storytelling with deep characterizations.

This. I literally wanted to walk out from Sherlock Holmes 2. Robert felt like some goddamn videogame action hero, insanity! And even the set pieces, wtf, I've seen better in some average flicks last year: you have a) slo-mo bartitsu and b)big guns and wood splinters, how inspiring. At the end of BBC Sherlock I almost cried how intense it felt, here? Not so much, laughed more likely.
