But there’s stuff missing - unless what’s missing is just pre-existing music.
I’m looking for a cue that was used twice. Once when they retrieved the body on the moon and when they released another body into space. I think it might be part of Balfe’s score but I’m not sure.

I'm not done listening to the entire thing but damn, it's so beautiful and haunting and heavenly

He better gets an Oscar nomination if not win for his work

Yeah... I don’t think it’s Oscar worthy either. It’s all over the place thematically.

I love the two main themes Richter created (“To The Stars” & “I Put All That Away”) and I also love Balfe’s contribution to the score. That grand brass theme and the ambient-orchestral cues were great. Not sure about the rest. I mean: messy production, messy score - so surprise there.

Also, not quite sure if this will get nominated with so many names credited.

It didn’t even try to be smh. What’s interesting is they even temped with Zimmer’s music lol.
I didn’t like it very much at first because it didn’t push any boundaries - played it very safe - but the emotional cues did what they needed to do.

I still like Sunshine more.

It's not that great, but the third act isn't god-awful or anything.

When you see how the Awards treated Zimmer for Interstellar and Hurwitz last year, I wouldn't get my hopes up. Richter should already have been nominated for Hostiles imo.
And this only one of the award for which Ad Astra is going to be shamefully ignored.
