Yeah. I honestly think this is being pushed by XL or the label since this kind of thing is definitely not the kind of controversy or public view that the band wants especially considering that the band doesn't even make 100% of what they make on "Creep?" The band hasn't shied away from controversy in the past but it's mostly been business models or political, hardly legal.

Yeah, this is bad. They're suing a rip-off of a rip-off? I'd say I'm in Lana's favour.

This only looks bad on Radiohead at the moment.Especially when Creep itself was verging on being a rip-off,and a song they dont seem fondly of.

I can only see this being 1.Radiohead getting old and cranky or 2. former record label pushing for this.

Ed's extremely supportive of the streaming industry, the band put their best album up online for free, and they allow/encourage fans to stream their concerts online (even providing them with their own specific Wi-Fi for one show out in the middle of nowhere). They've mellowed out especially in the last 10 years or so.

This definitely feels like the band mentioned it to the label and the label is running with it. It's apparently been going on for months though so we'll see how this ends. I want a statement from the band itself, but idk if we'll actually get one at this point. Doesn't really change much even if it's a little petty.

As Radiohead’s music publisher, it’s true that we’ve been in discussions since August of last year with Lana Del Rey’s representatives. It’s clear that the verses of “Get Free” use musical elements found in the verses of “Creep” and we’ve requested that this be acknowledged in favour of all writers of “Creep.” To set the record straight, no lawsuit has been issued and Radiohead have not said they “will only accept 100%” of the publishing of “Get Free.”
Looks like this is a request for Radiohead and The Hollies to be credited in Lana's song rather than a desire to get money. I imagine they asked to be credited due to the similarities and she said no and then offered them "40% of the publishing" as a compromise, something they don't care about.
