I think The Hateful Eight is my favorite Tarantino film. I guess I find some flaws in it but for me at the end of the day, it's his best script and his best directing. I'm in love with it.

I constantly see it thrown out with Death Proof as a minor film of his recently and I can't disagree more.

Of course Pulp Fiction will always be Pulp Fiction and its impact will never be replicated. But only on my personal enjoyment, H8 is the one.

Complete rankings
The Hateful Eight
Pulp Fiction
Inglourious Basterds
Kill Bill
Jackie Brown
Reservoir Dogs
Django Unchained
Death Proof

Damn right. This and Basterds are his finest.

H8 and Basterds are my favorites too. I absolutely can't stand Kill Bill, which I'm guessing is a bigger controversy.

Vol. 1 is quite a thing. Vol. 2 not so much, I suppose.

I love Hateful Eight but it's my least favourite of his. Dialogue always on point but if there ever was a script of his that needed a trim, it's H8. Also, I think the blood/violence at the end (like Django) doesn't really match the rest of the film IMO. There's 90's realistic QT violence then there's Kill Bill violence. His last two westerns for some strange reason falls in line with his Kill Bill violence and I'm still stumped about that.

Hateful Eight is also one of my favorite Tarantino movies. Though I do slightly prefer Reservoir Dogs.

Speaking if controversial opinions about Tarantino movies, Pulp Fiction is one of my least favorite of his. It's just above Death Proof for me.

Oi!

Vol.2 is better of the two.

Nah. I agree with Quell that Vol.1 is better than Vol. 2

Vol.1 is cooler because anime and yakuza.
Vol.2 is deeper and there’s both western and wuxia.

Whatever you prefer is fine, just don’t put it under Django.

Bill's Superman speech takes me right out of it, man.
