Soooo, I watched Zombieland a couple of days ago, and still liked it very much and decided to go see the new one as well. I... don't hate it? I mean, it's obviously not better than its predecessor, but it's good enough for me to have a good time and some laughs. Easy to enjoy if you don't overanalyze it. Depends a lot on the first one. I mostly love it for the cast, because everyone just vibes so well with each other, and it's fun to watch. Third act is the weakest, and overall the entire idea behind what motivates the story is really flimsy
I think there's lots of room to nitpick, lots of room for improvement, but I wanted lighthearted fun dipped into some nostalgia, and I got exactly that.

i can't remember seeing a better run of movies in my life
and i saw spirited away theatrically last night, surprised my GF with it since it's like her favorite movie (along with, like, Terminator 2 and Fury Road) and she was beaming. i wept on and off the entire last hour. the whole theater sat through the credits, crying. sold out screening. it was special.

this year went from shit to pretty fucking good very quickly

It was amazing
! Watching this stuff on the big screen makes a really big difference imo and whenever I watch a film I saw way back at home in cinemas it's a really special experience.
