I'm in the opposite corner to both of you. I thought the first Fantastic Beasts had a lot more substance than style and that was its chief problem. The same or very similar screenplay adapted through more capable hands would've been far more compelling.

As is, the whole thing has this gross coverage-coverage-coverage backlot cheap TV look to it.
