'The Imitation Game' director Morten Tyldum has said he will make a new movie remake and TV series of his Norwegian 2011 movie 'Headhunters' (Hodejegerne). The movie is based on a book by Jo Nesbø (who also wrote The Snowman).
We will make a remake of 'Headhunters'. It will be created both as a TV show and a feature film. We have a big Hollywood star who want to a part of it, and we will see if we can come to an agreement. The script is under development, so the project has come pretty far.

He's going to remake his own film... :blank:

This is not a Dragon Tattoo situation, the original is a great film with two incredible performances (Aksel Hennie and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau). Learn to read subtitles ffs

Has happened more frequently than you'd think.

However the foreign-to-English thing is more often than not a really poor idea and as you say, the original is pretty bloody good.

The original Dragon Tattoo got identical reviews to Fincher's fwiw.

Not sure that's best example. That film has plenty of fans.

It's better directed, better acted (Swedish Blomkvist was terrible) and more faithful to the book. There was a lot of room for improvement in the american remake. There's none in this possible project, especially with the same director

Ok for the reviews, it had the chance of coming out first, but this film has mostly been forgotten IMO Not sure where the "plenty of fans" are (no one even asked or is considering to see Rapace make the fourth book for example)

The IMDb ratings are also identical. Very strong rating, film must have plenty of supporters to have a rating that high. The reason people aren't asking for the 4th film is because the sequels underwhelmed which of course has nothing to do with the first one.

Yeah the original is a cult film and it was also a box office hit and massively popular at the time of its release. I prefer Fincher's film, although the original was also pretty good. In terms of the lead performance however Rapace was quite more effective. It helped that she has overall much more charisma and presence than Mara as an actress.£
