The Batman (2022)
i think you're a babe
Sometimes I feel like they should just forget about this. Most people including myself were interested to see more of Batfleck but what's the point if they're doing another young Batman. But again maybe they'll do something interesting and new...
Plus, they shouldn't rush this so who cares if it comes in 2019 or 2029 lol just make a good damn movie.

Perfect time to do Batman Beyond IMO
Especially since Batfleck's absence from the DCU will have to be explained away anyway
*cough*Tim Chalamet*cough*

We have so many good potential Batman stories, Batman Beyond would just be... giving up on those? Idk, I feel like WB needs to start mining the last decade, everything is there in front of their noses, ready for extraction. Marvel, with their ten years domination, barely even scratched the potential.
-Jim Gordon was an excellent Batman for almost a year (it worked as a cool spin on Robocop while Bruce was away)
-Batman uncovered the truth behind Court of Owls, the true rulers of Gotham’s underbelly (think Eyes Wide Shut seanse scene)
-There was a ground zero electronics event in Gotham that reduced it to Mad Maxian environment with Batsy serving as a Max character in a stripped down gear
-He found out Talia was hiding his own son and training him to become assassin who will eventually kill his father and become a better ruler aka new Batman
-Recently, Selina dumped him right before the altair because Bane is a massive prick
Etc. etc.
Just dig up some of those WB. Stop doing tired old Year One retellings.
Cast Chalamet in EVERYTHING
for real though he'd be a wonderful Batman
It's a pity he's not British otherwise BOND
I'm fine with a younger Batman and Court of Owls would be great as villains. I hope Reeves gets going with this, he's been working on the script for how long now? Also, it needs Seresin as the DOP
I don't see why DC can't use both Beyond and other past Batman stories in the same. I mean, if the understanding is it's going to follow the continuity of the Snyderverse, it wouldn't really make a difference.m4st4 wrote: ↑July 26th, 2018, 3:21 pmWe have so many good potential Batman stories, Batman Beyond would just be... giving up on those? Shit, who am I kidding discussing this? This'll probably be horrible anyway.
So much wrong here. First of all, the reason why batfleck is out, is the reason a lot of people are excited. Reboot the character and give us a real Batman. Like m4 said, there's a lot of great stories you can still tell with Batman and you don't want to tie yourself to an old sucky Snyder version. The Year One stuff, I'm pretty sure it's just a rumor. No one is gonna tackle that after Nolan in many years. It just doesn't make sense to mess with perfection. You gotta do an established Batman. A young one, but an established one - he's already been Batman and run with that. We know his arc, give us the villain.AhmadAli95 wrote: ↑July 26th, 2018, 12:45 pmSometimes I feel like they should just forget about this. Second of all, rushing!? Are you kidding me!? At this point, if he's still doing the movie, Matt Reeves is one of the slowest writers I know. They had a bunch of time to write and get ready for shooting. Obviously I know it's not Matt's fault and that they are figuring stuff out behind the scenes what they really want. But they are definitely NOT rushing. Just the opposite. Why? Do they want a DCU movie? do they want a standalone? I think they still don't know... and it's all Wonder Woman's "fault". Had that movie been a failure, we wouldn't even be talking about what to do. A reboot would have already been announced... because nothing else really worked for them so far. Judging by people's reaction to the trailer and the tone and what they want, probably Shazam will be a success as well, so that will complicate things even further (I have my doubts about Aquaman - the concept of an adventure film is cool, and Wan is a great get, but by now, this might already be too tied to Snyder's universe to be salvageable)
