Mackenzie deserves a better franchise. Terminator reached Olimpus peaks with T2 and whatever they attempted after that was just pathetic in comparison.
If the budget is over 60 million for this movie, then forget about it.
So forget about it.
I won't do it too soon. Tim Miller was able to achieve wonders with the budget Deadpool had, so I hope he'll approach Terminator the same way.
There's no way they'd strip this back, unless I'm missing some news. Cameron's involved, right? He's not exactly the best when it comes to maintaining a reasonable budget on any project. He'll have more throw over this than anyone might expect if his interviews are to go by.
“We’re developing a new Terminator film. And The Terminator films are all about artificial intelligence. But I would say we’re looking at it differently than when I wrote the first story in 1982. That was just your classic ‘technology bad, smart computers bad’ kind of thing. Nowadays though – it’s got to be a much more nuanced perspective. So its ‘Smart computers bad… BUT…’ That’s the new motif.”
