this is the second announcement that uses softer language around Rian's movies/trilogy than Benioff and Weiss' stuff
suddenly it's a "potential" trilogy?

I hope I’m wrong but I really don’t think it’s gonna happen anymore.
there's 2 possibialities as i see it
a.) they're hyping Debioff and Weis cuz GOT and it's good PR, and Rian isn't good / as good PR but they're still happy to bring him onboard and Rian's progress is perfectly well and good
b.) there's something internal going on we don't know about. Recently Rian reconfirmed he's still working on the trilogy, but 1.) Disney is softening on him 2.) writing isn't going as well as planned and it's a Whedon-Batgirl situation.
I think it's the former but the latter wouldn't be shocking in either case there, rian has history of abandoning projects he can't get right
