No his plan makes no sense because by the rules established in the film he can do ANYTHING with the gauntlet, including solving the problem he wants to solve without having to murder half the universe but what does the doofus do? He just kills half the universe.
Well give people an inch and they want the whole mile. Maybe he wants people to learn from their mistakes?
