^ That's true. Although with you and Keegs changing your ratings the NFometer will go down to 72% basically.

Or don't. I don't care.

You two have to admit. The fact that, both of you were very negative towards this film prior to seeing it and then both gave it 8 after the initial viewing and then both changed it to somewhere around 6, now that some time has passed, is pretty astonishing, even by your standards. I mean ... come on. Then again Cilogy did the same thing. What are you doing with these people V? lol.£

Well, and Solo did too. The two longest standing posters with a Star Wars reference in their names didn't like it, which should say something. Or it doesn't, but either way.

That's Solo/Cil/Keegan and myself. Not really just Keegan and I.

Well since this thread got bumped....now that months have passed Gareth has had a chance to reflect on this experience and the reaction:

What a humble and nice man he seems to be.

I think, it being Star Wars, has a sort of "boom and bust" effect on reception and reaction, simply because it's Star Wars. It seemed like Phantom Menace sort of went through the same thing. People went through the excitement of having another Star Wars film and then realized it was severely lacking as a film.

It also helps that the movie gets better over its 3 acts, with the last half hour being perhaps having better action than even TFA. So, I think naturally, coming out of that film at the end, I'd want to give it high marks.

But that's unfortunately the only great thing about it, everything else ranges from okay to mediocre. The main character has zero soul, and she's supposed to be our guide through it all. The story itself felt convoluted at times, thanks to stop-and-go editing and some frankly boring writing.

Everything from the beginning to when the crew lands on Scarif is just ... who cares? The film certainly didn't give me enough reasons to. I mean, some characters have neat and "badass" moments (namely Yen and Wen). But this is not a Zack Snyder flick, you can't build an entire film on cool "moments".

The film just doesn't have lasting appeal.

I already forgot most of the shit in this movie anyway. i only remember couple of scenes

- the starfighter combat
- the beach fight cuz it was dumb and campy for the most part lol
- the 2 vader moments
- the blind dude kicking ass in his introduction scene
- forest whitaker's mad maxish character accepting his final moment (mostly because it was a large shot of that huge blast)

i honestly remember squat about felicity's character and even less about the moment when everyone died.

such a risk it became the most forgettable thing in the movie lol

from a technical standpoint the movie is fine tho.

I remember like 90% of TFA. That says something.

It's become the movie my friends and I only ever talk about to share new observations about the bad writing.

I just realized I can't remember Jones even cracking a smile throughout the whole flick. I hardly think that's a product of her performance, which I know has been great in other films.
