But the franchise monies! There's no way Warner Bros will just let the closure slam in at the end of a single film.

I think Warner want to do a JL movie and they know Nolan / Snyder's Superman wont fit in with that.

As such I think they have agreed to do a one off film, totally self contained. It will become the 'classic superman film' because it does things that no one expects. It leaves no real room for a sequel. Now this is just a prediction, one I would love to see happen, but it is possible Warner are too money hungry to take a risk like that.
