It was much more prevalent at my place though， maybe the marketing made them think that Ren would be the next big baddy, not to put all the blame the marketing team, but i guess partially?

What I found interesting is that they (Disney) kinda "cheated" on opening weekend. They included the thursday evening showings (which started at 7 pm, not midnight), plus the SW marathons (whose tickets cost more than a SW:FA ticket, according to boxofficemojo they were as much as 60 $).
