They seem to forget that Arnold is decent at best and kinda isn't really a big name in the industry these days!
I think it just speaks more to EON's more director-led approach now with the Craig films and how a lot of old-school Bond fans seem unhappy with that, preferring an approach that's probably best compared to Marvel...
Which is comical as Saltzman gave directors strong latitude. The choice of composer was different back then because you had JOHN BARRY most of the time. Even Cubby let John Glen have his cinematographer choice.

Conversely going by the directors of the Arnold era and their frequent collaborators, we could have had Bond scores by James Horner and Jerry Goldsmith which could have been vastly more interesting.

‘Bond 25’: Composer Dan Romer to Reunite with Director Cary Fukunaga to Shake Up the Franchise
https://www.indiewire.com/2019/07/bond- ... ssion=true
The search for a “Bond 25” composer has ended with the perfect choice: Dan Romer, who provided offbeat, eclectic scores for director Cary Fukunaga’s quirky “Maniac” series and haunting “Beasts of No Nation” feature. IndieWire has learned that Romer will soon reunite with Fukunaga on “Bond 25,” currently shooting in London.

There had been speculation that the director might tap Oscar-winner Justin Hurwitz (forming a Team Damien Chazelle triumvirate with cinematographer Linus Sandgren and editor Tom Cross) or franchise vet David Arnold, who brilliantly scored Daniel Craig’s first two Bond outings, “Casino Royale” and “Quantum of Solace.”
I'm pleased with this choice. I also think (Bond) directors should always choose the DoP/editor/composer themselves/have final say.

I absolutely loved the score of Casino Royale and Skyfall but I think picking someone else is an even more exciting choice.

When do we usually find out who does the intro song?

As for the Bond-less prologues, surprised there (technically) still are only three of them.
Maybe we get a Madeleine flashback scene and then one to present day where she dies just before the intro or something

I'm kinda still hoping that
Madeleine is a deeeeeeeep cover SPECTRE agent because it would all of a sudden make the previous film kinda accidentally great and propel Mr. White to a top 5 Bond villain
... but I don't think they're going that way.

I don't know why every idea people have for Seydoux
is sth from either Majesty or Royale. We have seen those. They should do something different here.

Since this is idle speculation going to de-tag (apologies if not right to do so)
Vesper is being blackmailed though, she isn't actually diabolical or even a villain in any sense, just a traitor.
We've only really seen two female proper villains - one is entirely out of date, the other sidelined needlessly by Carlisle and as a result was juts kinda trashy.

There's a lot of room to manoeuvre - one idea might be that Madeleine was actually the one to interrogate Vesper, for instance (shoulda watched the tape!). I dunno, while I agree that the OHMSS story has been done, the idea of Bond being caught in the middle of a villain's civil war is exciting imo.

As I say though, I don't think it's where they're going. But I will be disappointed if Madeleine is Franke Potente'd.

My personal current theory on her is (tagging because based on set images etc)
She may be presumed dead in the pre titles but she reappears maybe as a subject of whatever Malek/Dencik's characters are working on, maybe something evoking the Angels of Death brainwashing in OHMSS? Then part of her arc would be regaining her memories - Barbara teased that one of the returning cast has a connection to Malek's villain and given her father was Blofeld's right hand Seydoux is likely the one - hence the flashbacks to her childhood. As well as a possible third act presence as they seem to head to Norway based on the set photos (there are face replacement doubles that resemble Craig - obviously, with the V8 Aston - Seydoux and Magnussen's CIA guy, plus a child's doll in the car they're in. Does Felix get offed?

sounds intriguing imo even if they're just rumours as of now
