The way you talk about Goyer is almost as if you forgot he worked on Nolan's Batman, all 3 of them. He isn't THAT bad of a writer and we've seen that him and Nolan work well together and come up with good ideas and story concepts.

I understand it, if you're not a fan of them it's logical. I'm not into comic-books and, as of now, I'm interested for the overall MCU basically for how good it could be, not for how good it is. I personally would prefer more blockbusters like Inception, innovative, standalone stories but, to explore a franchise, I prefer Superhero films than Harry Potters, Hunger Games, James Bonds or even Star Wars and Lords of the Rings, for how good they could be (and they are not).
Marvel has a great oportunity to give its films something new and exiting: Continuity. But not cheap continuity like in IM2, instead of making a formalaic film full of references they should explore the consequences of this intereaction with mire depth. The only film I think it has exploited it the good way is TA, but now that it's gone, what's next?
Iron Man 3 - Now that Tony has fought alongside monsters and gods and has learned about being humble, why not explore a more human problem? Remember those countries who wanted their own IM weapons in IM2? I would take the scalation thematic of TDK but with a more personal feeling. I like the approach Blake seems to be giving by making Iron Man play into international conflicts but it's too soon to make an statement.
Thor 2 - Thanos and the Chitauri wanted the Tesseract to conquer the great worlds beyond Earth. So... Odin and the other Asgardians have nothing to say to that? I would play the fear of some Space Madman coming and blowing up their realm as a mediaval fanstasy tale, but more political, with Thor and the other nobles being more ambiguous about their nature as protectors. Interesting take: The Asgardians become paranoic and start to decide that they, as gods, have the right to control the other realms, and begin to invade or manipulate other regions of space. The villain would also have a more personal excuse, maybe Thor's faction (but with him being against it) attacked their city/world/planet and wants to start a war as a revenge, this take could also appear retroactively, with the arrogant Thor pre-First Film being the one who attacked their species for fun.
That's the direction I think they could take to make them interesting.ComptonTerry wrote:

I personally think that Goyer is a competent storyteller and along with Nolan they can develop really ineresting concepts. But Goyer is (accorsing to Wikipedia, my only source, so correct me if I'm wrong) the only one doing the creenplay and when I remember films like Jumper, Blade 3 or Ghost Rider 2 I become afraid of the words Superman, Zod and Lane will use. Some of his writing is very amateur-ish. My hope is for Nolan to keep him on check.

He has connection to WB, everyone on that site that's been there for years swears he's always correct) reported that WB was really worried about the final act of Goyers screenplay. Apparently it was a mess. So what they did was they hired J. Nolan first to come and to some work on the final act, and then shortly after one of the writers of Watchman was also brought on board to help work on the screenplay. Not long after Gill said this certain places had articles about J. Nolan being brought on board. Nothing has ever been 100% confirmed but this source has been right before (plus other sources said the same later) and I also think WB would know not to trust Goyer 100% so it makes sense they would do this. Anyways, Gill has since said that WB is very confident about MOS and happy with J. Nolan (and the other dudes) rewrites.

Wow. Very exciting if true, actually. As I said, I've always wanted a powerful, spectacular, epic but also inteligent Superman adaptation onscreen, I was worried about it being a mess, but if our Nolan does the story and J. perfects the script, it could be something really epic. Fingers crossed!![]()
By the way... You got banned...![]()
Why?
You insulted them or something? I think it's funny.

I mean... Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Captain America 2... While I felt some sort of excitement for the previous Marvel installments, I feel like these sequels don't do a thing for me.
Isn't sometimes too much just too much? They're really trying to go for a full 30 Marvel movies which is cool but at the same time... too fucking much... It gets boring, exhausting... I dunno. Maybe it's just me reacting to TDKR anticipation but still...

I'd be more than happy for these movies to continue, especially if it stows that crappy trend. If it weren't for Avengers, Battleship might have been an actual success.
Count your blessings.
