Marvel Movies... A bit Too Much at this point?

Post RIFA July 11, 2012, 3:21 am

So... After all these Marvel movies that came out, all varying from great to mediocre, do you think that it kinda gets too much so there's a loss of excitement for any of the future sequels except the sequel to The Avengers and the Ant-Man film?

I mean... Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Captain America 2... While I felt some sort of excitement for the previous Marvel installments, I feel like these sequels don't do a thing for me.

Isn't sometimes too much just too much? They're really trying to go for a full 30 Marvel movies which is cool but at the same time... too fucking much... It gets boring, exhausting... I dunno. Maybe it's just me reacting to TDKR anticipation but still...

Right now CBM are the biggest thing. They dominate the summer and have the most anticipation. It's really just the trend for now, and if Westerns can die then so will CBM soon enough. This will probably be the last decade where people care about them. I predict by the late 2010's they'll be dying out.

I agree with you, more or less in part. In my opinion, The Avengers was a better movie than all the other Marvel films combined, so now I've lost a bit of interest in the individual sequels, more interested in Avengers 2 than the others. Maybe it's a bit too much.

I'm still interested for Iron Man 3 (Shane Black, Guy Pearce...), for Thor 2 I think I'll wait for the reviews to decide (if done well, it can be very good, if not... :suicide:) and for the Captain America I'll wait for the DVD (didn't love the first, not interested in the sequels).

I like the effort of building a Movie continuity between them, however, it's an admirable work.

You are right. I am pumped for Ant-Man aka Edgar Wright that is it. I also have a decent amount of expectation for Iron Man 3 due to change of director and cast additions.

I'm only excited for IM3 because of Guy Pearce.

I think Superhero films in general need to die. Maybe TDKR can herald the end and then we can move onto another decade-long trend.

Umm... MOS needs to happen first. Once a successful and epic MOS trilogy has come and gone than CBM have my permission to die.
