OMFG! What a match that was. Just relieved that Fed won it eventually. Two sets down, I kinda thought he would be out, but somehow he managed to win. Image

I agree that this form isn't good enough. If he plays Djokovic in the semi, he'll have to raise his game or he'll be destroyed.

Yeah, Nadal's exit has made his job a lot easier. In the last 4 years, Murray has lost to Nadal thrice here. If he meets Djokovic or Federer in the final, he would still be the underdog though. However, if he [or someone else new] wins Wimbledon, it would be good for the sport.

 Kinda reminds me of Roland Garros 2009, where Soderling knocked Rafa out in the 4th round, and Federer played two five set matches against Haas and Del Potro before eventually winning the final.

Will the pattern repeat?

TBH, I think Djokovic will defeat Federer in the semi and win Wimbledon this year.

Federer on Rosol upsetting Rafa: 'In 5th it was just a joke. I was laughing for 10 minutes after. Couldn't believe he pulled it off'

Such a freak match indeed! And Rosol promptly lost in the next round to Kohlschreiber today, rather tamely too. And people will wonder for years how in the world did he play so awesome against Rafa.

Crazy match today as well, with the Murray-Baghdatis match finishing at 11:02 pm BST - 2 minutes past the official closing time of Wimbledon.

The crowd was literally screaming at every point!

Roger Federer is now one match win short of -

- reaching the 850 match wins landmark. Only below Agassi [870], McEnroe [875], Vilas [919], Lendl [1071] and Connors [1217].

- matching Sampras' W-L record at Wimbledon. Pete is 63-7, Roger is 62-7.

- extending his remarkable consecutive Grand Slam quarterfinal streak to 33. THIRTY THREE!

- reaching 37 Grand Slam quarterfinals in total, surpassing Andre Agassi [36] and second only to Jimmy Connors [41].

Federer is the Nolan of tennis; every time he takes the court, he creates a masterpiece. He really is the greatest to play. And I hope he wins Wimbledon. Because if he does, not only does he add another slam to his collection, but he's also back to #1! Where he belongs!

Go Fed!
