Joker did mention his father twice though... I'm betting he definitely had some serious upbringing issues related to him. I mean, mental issues always start somewhere, and in the family home is usually the source.

Even though the Joker was a diabolical madman who used imtimidation and lies to assault his opponents, I think he did have issues with his father as a child.
