What is the motivation of The League of Shadows?

I feel like this is an issue that needs to be addressed if The League of Shadows is ever brought up again in Batman 3.

They should clarify that they are indeed a terrorist group. Because otherwise, their actions and motivations make no real sense in BB.

In the comics, it is made very clear that they are essentially terrorists, who oppose technological progress. This is only very slightly hinted at with the statement that they wish to rid the world of all it's filth, and destroy the cities that are corrupt beyond repair. But it's not stated clear enough to make thier motivation sound sensible. If the league of shadows was to make a return in Batman 3, with their motivation further explored, it would make for a very fitting conclusion to the trilogy, and would serve as a great contrast to Batman.

I mainly meant that their motivation should be clarified if they are brought up in Batman 3.

"Like Constantinople or Rome before it the city has become a breeding ground for suffering and injustice. It is beyond saving and must be allowed to die. This is the most important function of the League of Shadows. It is one we've performed for centuries. Gotham... must be destroyed."

Wow, do you think that Batman 3 should just be a recap of the first two movies? Seriously.

That quote makes no logical sense.

Gotham has become a breeding ground for suffering and injustice. So we will make it even more injust and increase suffering by releasing all the criminals, and release a gas that makes everyone crazy!?

Does that make logical sense to you?

Yea, and everyone in Gotham effected by the gas end up killing each other. Ending Gotham. Tada.
