What did Dr. Crane see when batman
Put the fear toxin on him. Batman was like a black monster and spitted tar.

The toxin just makes you see what you fear the most. And in Crane's case it was a sterotype of fear, which was used in the film as a symbol of that the toxin affects everyone, but in different ways.

I always viewed it as what the "idea" of Batman meant to Crane and how it affected him. So when Batman sprays the toxin on him, we're essentially seeing how he views Batman, who i believe is his worst fear.

I have a feeling it wasn't a huge issue on set....ha. I don't think Nolan got to worked up about what Cane saw.
