Re: Dunkirk General Information

This should do well in the technical categories tho Well, Hacksaw Ridge just won two technical awards at the Oscars: Best Sound Mixing and Best Film Editing. That means that next year Dunkirk will be shut out of those categories, because the Academy dislikes recognizing the same type of genre two y...

Re: Dunkirk Oscar Chances

And why do you think they're released in November/December if the release date doesn't matter at all? Oscar baits are released later in the year for a reason. Maybe I should've said it a little different. The release date matters a bit, but at the end the film itself is more important. If the Acade...

Re: Dunkirk Oscar Chances

Thanks, nice.
So in 16 years only 3 spring/summer movies won the Best Picture. It's 18.75%. The odds are not very good but it's not impossible either. We shall see.

Re: Posters and Official Images

I would've been surprised and worried if they didn't start the promoting. Usually half a year before the premiere is the point studios start unrolling their marketing campaigns. We should see more articles and interviews with the actors in February and March, to hype up the next trailer.

Re: Dunkirk Oscar Chances

Hardy's part seems pretty small. I wonder if that means that he won't be used much for marketing and promoting the movie. I remember Nolan saying that part of the reason he didn't want to use Matt Damon to promote Interstellar was because it would have been misleading--people would have assumed he p...

Re: Dunkirk General Information

I wonder what Google uses to decide which actors to show under a movie. A Google search for Dunkirk 2017 currently brings up the following sidebar for me and another fan who pointed it out. I wonder if that is "personalized" in some way since those are obviously the three cast members I have search...

Re: Dunkirk Oscar Chances

Ehh, since neither Dunkirk nor the competing movies have been released yet, it's extremely hard to talk about its Oscar chances. But sure, fine: Nolan will win Best Director, Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay. Fionn will win Best Actor, Harry will win Best Supporting Actor and Best Original Son...

Yeah, same. I can't see HR winning in important categories. La La Land probably will win most of the them.

Re: Box Office

http://scifanatic.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/images/st09/Poster_italiano.jpg Kirk is running away from USS Enterprise? Genius poster. lol. I guess it's supposed to be a three-part poster. Well, it did its job despite not being accurate. I remember seeing that poster in a theatre and being intri...
