Re: Oppenheimer - General Information

I know it's him, but all these things are very easy to buy: https://www.worldofreel.com/blog/2022/12/vyrk3t133djqioj11xdc8yo81bq1bg Security hearing used to tell the story and jump through the timeline. No Hiroshima or Nagasaki, only Trinity. It's important to remember his last big Oppenheimer post...

Re: Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022)

The unholy secret about both Knives Out movies is that they're actually terrible murder mysteries but extremely fun suspense-thriller-comedies with colorful characters that the cast can have a ball portraying. Once you make that mental adjustment, you'll probably enjoy them more. Rian's entire caree...

Re: Box Office

Oppenheimer's trailer stats are gonna be hard to parse out because it was promoted as an ad it seems. Inflates the stats. I think Barbie will do well. Oppenheimer should still do well too, though after how poorly dramas have fared this year, I'm a bit less confident Yeah. At first I was really impr...

Re: Box Office

Agree with both of you. I guess it was just bound to happen even more after Tenet. Some people are coming with the idea that Tenet marked the last we'll see of Nolan's name trying to pull audiences to the theater and whatnot. It’s mostly a thing with detractors, haters, trolls, cynics, etc. I think...

Re: Box Office

I dunno, I think Barbie will not only be great but will probably do fine at the box office. We don't have to make it a weird competition.

Re: Box Office

Having seen the trailer and the indeed sorta surprising online response, it does show why Universal spent 100 million dollars on the project and locked in Nolan's typical July spot. Not to mention the spendy Sunday night football TV spots. The trailer depicts the movie as a big-scale thriller, with ...

Re: Trailer #1

I love the trailer (seems like with the bootleg I only missed the first two or three shots), and Cillian's voice is so... different! I can barely recognize it. And he looks so great in the role. Can't wait to see more. I agree with Vader that it is a rather uplifting tone (even with the more sinist...

Re: Trailer #1

Not being facetious but why are going to avoid trailers and footage going forward? This is based on a true story, there are no spoilers. I just like to go in as fresh as possible. There's a million ways to tell a story, so it's nice to discover the way a movie looks, feels and unfolds opening night...

Re: Trailer #1

Anyone know the significance of the fish bowl full of marbles? I think its a visual metaphor for a criticality experiment, where you place some highly radioactive material in an unsulating/encapsulating container, and the particles cant escape, increasing reactivity, and potentially reaching critic...

Re: Trailer #1

I stand by my comments that the trailer (primarily due to the music choice) gives it a really strange "uplifting" vibe, but the footage itself is spectacular. I love the warmer, dynamic palate that's almost a hybrid between Pfister era Nolan and Hoyte's style. Teddy mentioned to me privately some of...
