Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

Dabangg 3 I haven't seen the first 2 but this one was boring. It started off great and I loved the masala elements but man That flashback scene did not need to be so long Dimple Kapadia is also in this and she is a good comedic actress and her scenes are funny. Why did you put yourself through this?

Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019)

This was not that bad. But so many like so many crucial moments in the film are not earned. Rather far from it. And that is it's undoing. I enjoyed it because JJ still puts on a show. Can't fault anyone for hating it though.

Re: Top 10 Movies of 2019

I’d love to see country statistics of this website’s members. This forum (and honestly, most of the internet) is so american centric, I find myself always having to adapt to that in a sense. It’s like constantly being in an american themed bubble, despite not actually living there. I’m sure there a...

Re: Knives Out (2019)

Anybody else not satisfied by the final reveal? But otherwise good fun I must say. The most hilarious gag was
everyone mentioning a different South American country with respect to Marta

Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

So Midsommar is a very very inferior version of
The Wicker Man?
First fifteen twenty minutes were awesome though.

Re: The Irishman (2019)

However there is a more than a few of unnecessary (or even bad) scenes that could have been trimmed; the most egregious one is the daughter spelling out her "subtextual" meaning (and fuction) in the narrative. Jikes. Two things. She is not "spelling" out her function. We are supposed to see and feel...

Re: The Irishman (2019)

The first half of The Irishman is "generic" on purpose. Scorsese retreads familiar territory, yes, but instead of treating the material with romance and sentiment, he treats it mostly as mundane, banal and a little pathetic. You're not supposed to feel as electrified, or even as entertained, as you...

Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

Ford v Ferrari James Mangold knows how to direct action scenes. Exhilarating would be an understatement. Probably gonna win a slew of technical awards come Oscar season. A very annoying character in the movie is the sole reason for the drama to propel forward. That's Mangold's only undoing. Otherwi...
