God I do wish they have... The Dark Knight deserves a new master approved by Nolan and Pfister...

Its shot on 16mm. Not 8mm. The only version that exists is a blow-up. You will never be able to get more quality out of it than the source-material allows if the original master is in good condition and the transfer is done professionally, even a low budget movie like this can show improvements. I don't think it will be in Blu-ray because it's very low budget, and IMO the movie itself doesn't need to be in blu-ray. As for your first question, Following is not my Nolan's favorite, but it is a GREAT (and I mean, really great) movie to start off his career. EVERY movie needs to be in blu-ray....

every release by Criterion has its counterpart in blu-ray, and besides Following is the only movie by Nolan which has not been released in high definition..
