Alien V Prometheus

Alien hasn't aged a bit. Prometheus will age badly. Alien isn't just conversation, it's contemplation, it's the characters surveying their limits and making either reasoned or irrational thoughts. It's about Ripley's female intuition serving her better than anyone else on the ship, it's about the s...

Fincher Vs Nolan Filmography

ComptonTerry wrote:I really liked the look of Zodiac. I'm not even sure who did the cinematography for it either.
Harris Savides. Miranda's work on Benjamin Button was also striking, but I think the gold standard for photography in a Fincher film is Khondji's work on Se7en.

Fincher Vs Nolan Filmography

Fincher has better cinematography in TGWTDT than anything Nolan has ever done. Nonsense. Large-scale, beautifully lit work by Pfister in The Dark Knight alone trumps the sterile digital work of Cronenweth in Dragon Tattoo . Cronenweth was doing more interesting things in (the also digital) The Soci...

Fincher Vs Nolan Filmography

Fincher is a better visual artist and is a bit more adventurous with genre, and arguably gets a higher hit rate from his actors. Ridley Scott also happens to be a money grubbing whore.
Indeed.

Can't wait for his true vision of G.I. Jane as well. The man is almost a self-parody.

The Best James Bond Film?

Yeah, On Her Majesty's Secret Service is one of the absolute best Bond films. There are stylistic choices that are dated, but you can't hold that against the film.

Best David Fincher Film (Poll)

I actually go Dom Cobb over Teddy Daniels. A more subtly loopy performance.

NO TDKR MIDNIGHT SHOWINGS OUTSIDE US?

Got my tickets booked for 12:01 AM on the 19th in Melbourne. So... yeah, I don't know what WB's double-standards are all about. http://www.imaxmelbourne.com.au/movie/dark_knight_trilogy I was thinking of going to this. But I may not have time to. I'll definitely try to see it as soon as possible an...
