Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

Would you further expound upon how they portrayed the Middle East or Arabic world in a stereotypical, inaccurate manner? I haven't seen the original Aladdin in over a decade or this most recent rendition of it. What are some of the things that are problematic? Barely any major spoilers but regardle...

Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

Sorry to Bother You Boots Riley is one of my favourite artists just because he is quite explicitly a hard leftist and he made his music about that. I found out last year out of nowhere that the man is releasing a film and I thought that sounds really odd but so fucking cool. The first Coup song I e...

^^

I’ve seen it three times already. My daughter is in love with the series, lol.

Never thought it was possible for Pixar to continue the golden streak. Such a great film. Forky was such a great addition, dude was making me laugh hella hard.

Re: Trumpocalypse Now

None of the debate moderators pressed the candidates on their foreign policy. I don’t think foreign policy should be taken lightly when people all over the world are impacted by US wars, US-led harsh economic sanctions, drone strikes, the US weapon industry and proxy battles. I’ll never understand h...

Re: What Was the Last Episode of TV You Watched

Good Omens This was a pretty fun-hearted series. It offered a really funny and insightful commentary on humanity’s relationship with religion. I like that it does poke fun at Christianity without being nasty or mean — It entertains important spiritual questions and whether good and bad forces exist...

Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

Us Damn this was even better than Get Out, possibly the best horror movie of the decade along with The VVitch and Hereditary, but I have to sleep on that thought a bit. If you don’t mind me asking, what happened to your British pound sign at the end? I thought that was your signatory stamp on each ...

Yeah I watched it last night. That's how I feel about it too.
Final Cut: The Making and Unmaking of Heaven's Gate is a great documentary to watch along with the feature. It tells the story of the behind-the-scenes woes and how the film help end director-led films. The whole thing is on youtube.

Re: What Was the Last Episode of TV You Watched

Fleabag season 1&2 The british are really good at dark comedies yo. love it. Also, continuing with that line of thought but more in the vein of a light-hearted Teen British comedy. Sex Education is really good. It was just released by Netflix earlier this year. There were so many moments where my w...
