Part of what makes me love the original is the sense of scale and weight of the Jaegers against their environment/opponant. This trailer has none of that.

The original Blade Runner in Dolby Cinema was like a religious experience. I've seen the movie on Blu-ray a million times and once on 35mm, but this was like seeing the REAL movie for the first time. Can't wait to see 2049 tonight.

I just listened to a little of it, but the old synthesizer is on full display here. Very restrained and beautiful. It'll be interesting to see if the motifs/themes are truncated/elongated in the actual film, similar to Dunkirk. Nonetheless, it's very very good in my opinion. hooowwww did you listen...
