Re: Dune (2020)

Villeneuve have cast so many actors in his movies that are primarily known for Marvel movies, I wonder if he's actually a fan of those movies. He doesn't seem like someone who would enjoy them.

Re: Birds of Prey (2020)

Harley Quinn without the Joker is a lame character. Eh?? TAS did plenty of great things with her sans Joker. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/91QYtTediHL.jpg Not to mention she’s been sans Joker for years now and doing better than ever.🕷️ To be honest, the best Harley Quinn's ever b...

Re: Birds of Prey (2020)

This movie has the potential of being worse than Suicide Squad. Or it can be actually really refreshing and good. Again, everything is possible. Look at The Wolverine trilogy. The first movie had worse writing than the crappy cartoon pilot for the 80s X-Men, but its third movie was nominated for an ...

Re: Army of the Dead (TBD)

I really wanted his next movie to be "The Last Photograph," which he's been trying to make for years, with Christian Bale and Sean Penn as the main stars. That movie sounded like a real challenge for Snyder. Something he's never done. A war movie about two men trying to find their home. I'm glad tha...

Re: Why was Christian Bale so poor in this?

Of all the the things that can be praised about this truly wonderful movie, Bale's performance isn't one of them. I didn't notice it at first when I first saw TDK in theaters because I was so immersed by the story and Ledger's epic performance. But on repeat viewings I noticed how stilted and one d...

Harvey Dent/Two-Face = Young Bruce Wayne

Did anyone catch the obvious parallel between Harvey's ultimate fall from grace with what almost happened to Bruce in Batman Begins, right when he was about to kill Joe Chill in the court? Those are basically the same case-scenarios. Bruce, like Dent, was desperate and he was blinded by rage and des...

Re: Untitled Nolan Film - General Information/Discussion/Speculation

I keep coming back to this thought: Nolan would never ever admit this but doesn't it somehow feel like his last two movies have been almost like responses to common conceptions of him. Interstellar feels like a response to the criticism that he's cold and unemotional and cynical. In other words, fe...

Re: Untitled Nolan Film - General Information/Discussion/Speculation

The sexy brit is going to make another masterful masterpiece. Or at least I hope so. He can go full-on Shyamalan on us.

Re: "I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you"

I knew it! Batman goes up to look for a way to stop the train, Ras destroys the necessary controls. Glad I brought it up actually as I was itching to bring it up but not sure if I would be facepalmed or laughed at or ... at. This ultimately meant that Ras was ready to die during the mission to brin...

Re: Is this or INCEPTION (2010) Nolan's "masterpiece"?

SHOW, Mr. Nolan. don't TELL. Telling the audience instead of showing works greatly to his adventage when he approaches plot with subjective vs. objective. And he still doesn't explain anything substantial. In TDK, when Harvey and Rachel are kidnapped, you think that scene would've worked better if ...
