Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)
I think this is the worst possible idea ever proposed for a Star Wars film, even more so than Rogue One, and that's saying something. The whole nostalgia train thing going on with these big budget films just ain't doing it for me.

Re: Rank the films of Quentin Tarantino
I've been working through QT's arsenal again as of recent, and am now convinced he's getting better with age. I also notice a pattern of 'trilogies', in that Reservoir Dogs through Jackie Brown are so similar in execution, as are Kill Bill and Death Proof , Inglorious through Hateful Eight . I guess...

He's the best director working today, and second to Kubrick imo.Joltzz1990 wrote:Paul Thomas Anderson has remained my personal favorite director for roughly 10 years now. Reviews are starting to hit for Phantom Thread and it sounds like another winning knockout for PTA!

Re: Nolan's next film after Dunkirk
I believe, with the exception of The Dark Knight , Nolan's strengths are put to better use when the budget is tighter and the story is more confined. The Prestige, Memento , and Dunkirk are good examples of this. I'd like to see something like The Prestige , something period-piece. I don't think he'...

Re: All the Money in the World (2017)
Ridley's decision to reshoot and maintain a tight schedule is no nonsense, old-school filmmaking at its best. The real dark horse of the year, that's for sure. I'm likening this a lot to American Gangster in that it will surely be underrated and overlooked by the large majority of audiences, it'll l...
