I'll write a more balanced review when I've seen it twice and had more time to chew over all the plot, the meanings and the character threads, but right now, around and hour after I've seen it, it gets an (8.2/10) for me. There's just so much thrown up here and so much that works and should be laude...

To be brutally honest more people could and should have seen this, first day, first weekend whatever, just mandatory experience, even if just once. The fact it skewed older (75% over 25yo) is interesting. But $50 million is solid, just disappointing considering the predictions. Here's hoping there's...

How I'd love a $70 million opening weekend, just cos it deserves to be seen by that many people - that brilliant first weekend vibe.

The buzz for this just needs to be kept going until March - easier said then done given some mixed reactions that are weighing down the raves. We'll know around late December when the impact's been truly felt on the public and cultural zeitgeist, not to mention the other competitors being shown....
