Re: Lucid Dreamer

yea i heard somthing like if you jump in a dream, you might hang in the air and extra second or less, This is more "I can fly" rather than "time is slowing." :) also i heard try looking at your watch for reality check This works very well for digital watches. Something about looking at a number rea...

Re: Lucid Dreamer

Hey, I'm a lucid dreamer, too! 5 times a week for 45 minutes a pop is crazy! Just to be clear, I've only ever had maybe 3 or 4 lucid dreams that were over 30 minutes. And 5 times a week was my peak, mostly in the space of about 10 weeks. Anyway, I wonder how many other ways the movie differentiates...

Re: Lucid Dreamer

and i heard that when training yourself to become a lucid dreamer you need a fix sleep-wake cycle? if its the case then i can't do that...because my job (doctor) doesn't permit me to have a fix sleep wake cycle :( It helps a great deal to have a normal sleep cycle. It also helps if you can get a fu...

Re: Lucid Dreamer

When exactly do you do this check? Also, do you have any good resources or links on more information on it? I do a check whenever I happen to think about it, just to get into a habit. But I'm especially reminded to do so if anything unusual is happening, like a sudden downpour, or seeing an acciden...

Re: Character names

I thought of a real stretch... (don't take it too seriously)

Mal = George Mallory. When asked why he wanted to climb Mt. Everest, Mallory gave us the immortal line "because it's there." He died trying to get to the top. Just as Mal did! :wtf:

I had the same thought. Both have to decide whether to create their own reality. Leonard's choice is pretty clear, though.

Re: My Take on the ending: Emotion over Intellect

But the most important thing that he shows you is that Cobb walks away without seeing whether the top falls. Why? Because he doesnt care anymore...he's been through so much, that now that he has his kids, he's too happy to risk the chance of finding out that its all a dream. I took this as the most...

Re: Dream A Little Bigger: A Guide To Understanding Inceptio

Pretty good! I would suggest amending the part on Totems. It's true that Mal's top had different behavior in dreams than in reality, but that was not the primary purpose of the totem as explained in the movie. Cobb explains that it is the only way to tell if it's YOUR dream as opposed to someone els...
