Re: HBO's Barry

Just finished the second season last night. What a great show. As said previously S2E5 is one of the best and distinctive episodes of television I’ve seen in a long time. Probably the most unique I’ve seen since The Leftovers “International Assassin”. My only gripe would be how the story moves to a ...

Re: HBO's Deadwood

Considering watching the show for the first time since it’s held to such esteem and the movie looks great. Does the film work well enough on its own or does it require watching the whole show beforehand?

Re: Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)

That Blue Oyster Cult “Godzilla” cover at the end was pretty amazingly over the top hilarious and awesome though

Re: Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)

I really wish I agreed. The weather effects "paint over" the action scenes to the point many of them are hard to follow, and the actual choreography of them isn't great. The overall splendor of the creatures and colors is amazing though. -Vader I don't necessarily disagree with that complaint actua...

Re: Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)

As a huge fan of Kaiju and the Godzilla franchise specifically (both the more serious original intent of the concept and the fun goofy monster vs monster action of many of the follow ups) I found this to be some pretty awesome fan service towards the latter. It's a mixed bag that absolutely nails th...

Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum Incredibly fun time at the cinema if you’re a fan of the franchise or just a fan of violent action movies in general. Some of the most creative and satisfying choreographed action scenes I’ve seen. The tone of the film carries those B-Movie sentiments with it proudly ...

Re: The Witch (2016) - GOAT experience

Saw this last night and I really enjoyed it. It's deeply unsettling throughout the entire film and gives you that slow burn horror that lingers with you long past the credits. What makes the film stand out to me compared to other successful horror films of the decade is the excellence of the craft t...

Re: HBO's The Leftovers

Surprised there hasn't been more chatter here. Truly a remarkable finale to a remarkable season of television. This season gets an A+ from me and is among the best seasons of television that I've seen.

Re: HBO's The Leftovers

I'm not completely convinced with this idea, but it seems like this episode has signified a drastic shift in the direction this series is taking. Up until now, The Leftovers has dedicated itself to effectively walking the line between the supernatural and rationally explainable. Whether it was not c...
