I don't find a difference in the actresses. Rachel's character was stronger in BB, which is probably why some people like her over Maggie. However, they both gave equal performances.

I doubt Nolan's work represents a Renaissance. What it does represent is a chance to move forward into a Renaissance. That will take some time.
