That's basically what I was trying to say. Considering he already improved greatly on the script in small ways, this movie would have been unbelievable had he written the whole thing.

But the reason it's easily his weakest film is because Nolan had no part in writing the film. All of Nolan's films, except Insomnia, have had his hand in writing and is why I believe they turned out great. I would like to see him work with Paul Giamatti or John Turturro. I think they are both underrated actors who have put together great performances in lead roles and could do awesome things in a Nolan movie.

I saw someone on another board mention something about him doing a comedy and at the time I laughed at the idea, but I now think he could pull off a very cool dark comedy. It would have to be very dark in the flavor of some of the coen brothers' work.

I would be very excited for a western. I haven't until recent years been a fan of the genre, but with 3:10 to Yuma and that one with ED Harris and Viggo Mortensen the genre is being revived.
