Re: Director wanted
Is there an issue of the differentiation of format/codec/ratio/etc. etc.? Exporting in 720p/1080p? Essentially, how are you going to put ALL these together or aren't you?

Re: How to start?
This is a very good BASIC book to purchase to learn about filmmaking. http://www.amazon.com/Bare-Bones-Camera-Course-Video/dp/0960371818 Used it in my freshmen level-one production course (I'm an undergrad in film school by the way). Ha! That book brings back memories. Are you at U of Iowa? Yes, ac...

Mmm yeah about the pro-sumer vs con-sumer. I'm all in about that so I'd ofc recommend it too. I'm a bit too glad I waited before I bought this http://www.sony.co.uk/biz/product/hdvcamcorders/hvr-z7e/features which I also recommend. I'm sure there are better ones out there along with such that are n...

Re: How to start?
Avid Media Composer is the industry standard--rated above Final Cut Pro. TV and film being edited that way in Hollywoodland. At least that's what I've been hearing for awhile now.
If you're going to save up for a proper NLE then I'd definitely get Avid over Final Cut Pro.

Re: How to start?
Really think about what kind of camera you're going to get. Don't fall prey to the low-price of some HD cameras. If you buy cheap, you will realize that you need to buy the proper lenses and things like that and what started off as a simple $800 purchase could sky-rocket into the upper thousands. Sp...

Re: Debunking the "it was all a dream" claim
Any film and everything in the world is open to interpretation. We approach things differently because our subjectivity is different. Intending things to be open and creating something with an intention are not synonymous. He did not intend to make a movie about filmmaking. He wasn't considering thi...

Re: Debunking the "it was all a dream" claim
Nolan said he hadn't intended it to be a film about filmmaking but on some subconscious level, when he wrote the script, he wrote it in a way that was familiar to him--filmmaking. This subconscious influenced the heist film he made in Inception. It's quite evident in many films by filmmakers. It's o...
