Sensor resolution and recording resolution are two different things. But without getting too technical or breaking it down, it basically means that if Sony were to choose, they could ramp up the cameras recording abilities to 8K. Such a powerful film. Saw it at a film festival last year.

I also had a class with the cinematographer (Lars Skree) last year - awesome guy, so talented.
