Most depressing/nihilistic movie you have seen

Seeing you mention this, I remembered An American Crime, which is pretty similar to this. Maybe not the most depressing movie I've ever seen, but it definitely left me in dismal mood after watching.

Child 44 (2014)

I don't know.. I have a feeling this might suck. I like both Hardy and Rapace, but I've read a book a couple of years ago and I'd never be able to imagine them in any of the main roles. Also the director... I really liked the book, so I hope I'm wrong.

On the other hand, Gary Oldman... :tooexcited:

Paul W.S. Anderson To Helm 'Pompeii'

Aw, dammit! I totally misread this header as "Paul T. Anderson" and got all excited, especially considering the Harris/Browning/Harington casting. Yeah, the involvement of That Other Paul Anderson pretty much torpedoes any chance that this'll be good. Same  I almost got intrigued until I read ...

The Best TV Show Intros

It's completely misrepresentative of the show (which doesn't have a single ounce of spookiness in it), but True Blood's opening titles are a magnificent collage of bizarre Southern Gothic imagery: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZKWU0GpJ7g The opening is pretty much the best thing about True Blood ...

So my local theatre won't be showing this. Great, just great. I was actually pumped to see it.

Snow Piercer (2013)

Wait, does this have a premiere date? I didn't notice it. It definitely looks like the type of film I would like.

Les Misérables (2012)

I agree. Her performance was shorter than I thought it would be, but she was completely devoted to her character from the first moments I saw her. It was like quantity versus quality and, of course, quality won. Yeah...and then she left. :( I think it's safe to call her a scene stealing supporting ...
