Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019)

Went in with cautious optimism despite the mixed reviews because writer was Mr. Terrio and I loved BvS despite the bad reviews...and yep, just as I hoped, it was exactly the same situation. It's scary how much I enjoyed this movie. Like, it did for me what The Force Awakens did for so many people, w...

Re: Netflix's The Witcher

If we're comparing the two, then this show is like a straight C student.

It doesn't reach the lows of The Mandalorian, nor the highs.

It's just steadily watchable.

Re: Trailer #2

Meh. I mean don't get me wrong, I get where you're coming from: I watched all the footage released for The Dark Knight Rises and was disappointed to discover in the theater that the marketing spoiled every set piece, and that there was no secret fourth-act or whatever (I was naive). So for Interstel...

Re: Trailer #2

That's not how it works lol

Dunkirk's December 2016 trailer is still the most viewed, with the May 2017 trailer trailing far behind.

Re: Disney+'s The Mandalorian

Couldn't even finish episode 8 because it was just so completely uninvolving. I have no idea what made me stick with the show this long that it took until the final episode for me to go, wait, why am I watching this pile of sawdust? lol Non-characters complete with distracting casting. Intrusive fla...

Re: TENET - General Information/Discussion/Speculation

There is a limit to the platter size. That being said, if Mr. Nolan really wants it, an intermission + reel change would be technically possible, right? The problem being, then, that length would be commercial suicide, hence unlikely. Also, just popped into my head, but I wonder how much that wrap g...

Whoever voted for Die Hard needs to be banned and force-fed ketchup and eggnog.

Re: Deadpool 3 (TBA)

Deadpool 2 was far more entertaining than Deadpool 1, which had an awful structure that made the movie feel like one long, drawn-out scene peppered with flashbacks. But neither of them were anything to write home about, so I was actually hoping that Mr. Feige would put his foot down and say "lol nah...

Re: Prologue

In fairness I have been seeing many complaints from parents on Twitter about this. Apparently the Smithsonian Udvar-Hazy IMAX also moved it to the post credits precisely because of this. Also fantasy violence is different from grounded/real-world-based stuff...that's why SW, as violent as it may be...

Re: Tenet - Box Office Discussion/Speculation

Billion is a stretch. But just as with Dunkirk, it'll be fascinating to follow, because of its paradoxical elements: on the surface, Tenet seemingly hits every checkbox possible for it to be a hit (as much as a film by Mr. Nolan can, anyway, without stepping into quipping, CGI overload, etc. territo...
