Re: Jojo Rabbit (2019)

I actually thought this was alright. Sure, it's one of Waititi 's weaker offerings, and it plays things too safe to really qualify as "anti-hate satire," but it's just charming enough to be a good time. The TIFF crowd I saw it with was pretty receptive, but that might just be Toronto. The cast is so...

Re: IT: Chapter Two (2019)

Fuck this. Jessica Chastain has lost it and James McAvoy is surprisingly bad. Hader and Ransone saves the day by actual giving a fuck. Both are brilliant. This is just lazy filmmaking all around. I'm too tired to elaborate any further. interesting... thoughts on how they handled Pennywise this time...

Re: The Goldfinch (2019)

It's on my list of books to read, but the queue rn is lon...

Re: A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019)

I didn't expect the film to tackle issues that were relevant to my life right now, but I kinda appreciated that it did. This was a charming tribute to Fred Rogers. It's a great companion piece to last year's Won't You Be My Neighbor? Tom Hanks will likely score a nom for Best Supporting... Matthew R...

Re: Diary: A NolanFans Story

So somehow I just realized that my Jojo Rabbit screening tomorrow conflicts with Marriage Story.

Gonna see Jojo, so if anyone is in Toronto or knows anyone that might be interested, I got two tix.

I hope you enjoy this movie! Let us know what you think!
Yeah. Been making it an annual thing to attend TIFF. Toronto is my happy place.

Re: Ready or Not (2019)

Just watched this one today. It's actually quite fun. Not as scary or as funny as I had initially thought but still very engaging and visceral in a couple of places. Samantha Weaving is excellent in this and Adam Brody as the cynical brother is quite endearing. The violence becomes quite brutal on ...
