Re: Favorite Tom Hanks performance

It's probably not his best performance but I really really like this film:

Re: Beasts of No Nation (2015)

Two days and I've seen two incredible films. Cary Fukunaga leads Netflix into the feature length film arena in a big way. The directing, cinematography, and acting here is all top notch. Re: Sicario (2015)

This gets a 6/10 from me, mainly because of Emily Blunt, Benicio del Toro and the gorgeous cinematography. I don't buy the film's moral argument à la 'we need to be worse than the bad guy to catch the bad guy' argument, it bugs me that Blunt is the only woman in the film and yet her role is to be s...

Re: Sicario (2015)

So glad I got to see this in theaters yesterday. What a brilliant film. The film is its own beast but feels like a mix of Apocalypse Now a...

Look forward to reading your thoughts after the first season. @celibate: I'm not going to get into an ar...

Re: Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

The lack of plot reveal is a trademark of JJ Abrams. The marketing of his films have always been shielded in a level of secrecy that rivals Nolan. I'm not defending this decision. Just pointing it out. EDIT: And from a marketing perspective why would he reveal it anyways? It's Star Wars! It doesn't ...
