Marvelous performances and a great suspenseful thriller. :)

Aside of the obvious great performance, I don't really find this film particularly fantastic honestly.

It's a damn good movie, but I mean, I don't see it as revolutionary or anything.

Re: (Video) DP/30 interviewed Pfister

Any particular quotes that are worthwhile? I don't feel like watching the entire thing. "Personally I don't watch pornography. *laughs* I prefer the real thing, but you know, personal preference." :D Hahahaha! Is it just me or does he seem really annoyed and nervous throughout the entire interview?

Re: The INCEPTION Award Season Discussion Thread

Originality doesn't automatically equate to a good script. The dialogue was stiff, and the characters were underdeveloped. I mean we know nothing about Ariadne, Eames, Arthur, Yusef, etc, aside from that they are good at what they do. On top of that the exposition of the dream world was handled poo...

High and Low.

A daunting noir detective film by Akira Kurosawa. Not a masterpiece, but it was completely fantastic.

Re: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

I didn't read the book so maybe that's why I don't despise the Swedish version. As a standalone film it works really well. It's not some masterpiece or anything, but it's a good piece of work. I'm there with you on all counts, as good as it was, it just seemed a bit of squandered potential, like th...

But I've heard it on my tv's stock speakers, HD595 headphones through a dolby digital converter, and a surround sound setup at a friends, so I mean, how could it just be my setup?

Re: The INCEPTION Award Season Discussion Thread

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I do love the dialogue, it's not Aaron Sorkin or Charlie Kaufman dialogue, but hell, I think it's mostly fantastic and does precisely what Nolan wants it to do. That said, the main thing I'm trying to get across is that the general way Nolan handled the story and ...

Re: The INCEPTION Award Season Discussion Thread

Have you read the script? I have, and I can honestly say the structure of the narrative, the implantation of the characters how they were and all that were phenomenal. I ADORE Nolan's dialogue typically, but especially in Inception. The film's brilliance comes from direction, true, but that starts ...

Re: The INCEPTION Award Season Discussion Thread

There were plenty of good screenplays, but to handle Inception how Nolan did with making it all work the way it did, it goes to an entirely other level. INCEPTION's triumph is on the directing front. No one can convince me that the screenplay for INCEPTION is the best this year, not with those char...
