Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

I watched Moana for the first time with my (almost) 2 year old daughter. Whenever The Rock said "You're Welcome" in his song, she kept responding with "Thank You". That made me laugh so hard.

I really liked the film. I thought it was phenomenally done.

Re: Black Panther (2018)

What people miss when they compare the metascores for this and The Dark Knight is that The Dark Knight has 16 perfect scores, while Panther has 10. And ultimately the most important factor are the year end critics' top ten lists. And that usually depends on the number of critics who enthusiasticall...

Re: Black Panther (2018)

I don’t think it was suppose to be meaningful. She was insignificant to him. I really liked how women’s gender was incidental to their society. It wasn’t a factor, like at all, in their worth. Women weren’t used as obstacles to prevent other characters from achieving their goals. Like Killmonger did...

Re: 2017-2018 Awards Season

The highlights for me were; - Seeing del Toro winning Best Director and Best Picture. I’m stoked to watch The Shape of Water whenever that happens. - Dunkirk winning its three Oscars. Lee Smith is one frigging tall fella, lol. It was cool to see Mathew McConaughey excited for Lee Smith and pointing ...

Re: Black Panther (2018)

^Interesting. It's something I'd thought of after submitting my initial post lol. It's pretty freaking strong man, idk. I didn't connect it with the burning herbs thing, but it did dawn upon me how Killmonger never aligned with Wakandans enough because of the strong sense betrayal he felt, took upo...

Re: Black Panther (2018)

To be honest, at first I hated him. Part of me is because I'm just #teammaincast lol but also because I knew he was supposed to be more than that in the film, yet had a very hard time sympathizing with him after he killed his lover with no consideration whatsoever. I also don't necessarily agree wi...

Re: Black Panther (2018)

But like... as soon as he said “Its hard for a good man to be king” I knew he killed his brother...idk why people are making that a deeper/bigger twist than it is. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that way either. I never looked at it as an indication of a twist. I merely liked that at from di...

Re: Black Panther (2018)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anndNbRjOeE His reasons are exactly why Black Panther is one of my favourite Marvel films, along with Logan. It delves on so much. Its a Marvel film that actually makes an the effort to truly say something of value. It actually has meaningful dialogue, I hate when Mar...

Re: Black Panther (2018)

The vegetarians joke was actually one of the best. That joke has a deeper meaning. He was making fun of western stereotype that Africans are savages and their general ignorance of Africans in Africa. I loved that he just kept giggling at his own joke, he knew that line was poetic. http://www.youtube...
