Re: Midsommar (2019)

Florence Pugh is amazing and I can't wait to see her in more work. What I got from this movie it's about starting over for Dani. The film begins with her going through this very shocking and traumatic experience. And on top of that she never really fully gets to heal because of the people she is aro...

Re: The Lion King (2019)

Borrowing from Hamlet is legit not a big deal because so much of film and literature is taken from Shakespeare whether directly or indirectly and they are still considered original.

It's a literature joke that you can find Bible or Shakespeare allusions in everything you read.

Re: Mank (TBD)

Michael Gladis from Mad Men looks so much like Welles. He's too old to play Welles but if they are okay with de aging makeup and effects, it's good casting.

Re: The Netflix Club

Netflix ripping off their own movies :P

I'm glad to hear that though. I'm excited. I hope it gets a theater release near me. The only Netflix film I saw in theaters was Roma. None of their other originals were released near me for some reason.

Re: Mank

Was just about to post this.

I'm glad to see that Fincher has a great relationship with Netflix.

Re: Café Cinema: 1895 - 1999

My Fine Arts museum is having a Pre Code Hollywood Era film series going on and I am so overwhelmed by this schedule. https://www.mfah.org/calendar/series/cracking-the-pre-code The only major costs are gas and parking but the ticket prices are $9 per film and that's not too bad. I want to prioritize...

Re: The Netflix Club

I hope streaming doesn't start going the way of contracts. They lock you in for 6 months to a year so that you don't activate and deactivate on and off. Would be nice if HBOMax can let you choose what channels you want to see content from. One pitfall of cable is that they wouldn't let you choose wh...

Re: The Netflix Club

The thing about HBOMax is this: Are you going to watch all that stuff? Will you try to watch everything they have? Do you regularly watch TNT or TBS as it is? Do you watch anime regularly to justify Crunchyroll? I feel like with HBOMax, it's an overwhelming amount of content and if I had the service...

Re: The Netflix Club

I might end up getting a VPN since Netflix international seems to have better libraries. I'm not really too interested in most of their original offerings tbh. For the other streaming services though: HBOMax has a lot of content but I won't watch most of it (TNT, TBS, CW, Crunchyroll, Rooster Teeth,...
