Re: The Nolan Variations (Oct 2020 Book)

Anyone read the new edition with the Oppenheimer chapter? Doesn’t look like it’s available to ship to the US so curious if anyone that has it would be willing to share?!

Does anybody recall what book our Daddy was reading in Tallin (I mean, we have a photo of Him with it)? I belive it was some sci-fi by an estonian author.
The Brother by Rein Raud. Definite inspiration from it in Tenet.

Joshua Rothkopf loved it, calls it “incredible.” If I recall right, he only has loved Memento and The Prestige. I suspect the top critics are gonna adore it.

Re: Oppenheimer - General Information

Nolan did a DGA discussion with Karyn Kusama about Destroyer, which Phil Hay cowrote. They must've gotten friendly.

Re: Oppenheimer - General Information

Without Oppenheimer as the head scientist the US wouldn’t have had the bomb finished by the time they did. That was pretty well agreed upon. The
spy at Los Alamos
most definitely helped speed up the process for the USSR getting a bomb though. American Prometheus gets into that a bit.

Re: Oppenheimer - General Information

For a number of reasons, the book builds a Western iconography to him. Along with the hat we're absolutely gonna get him riding a horse. Nolan is going to have a field day with this imagery. As others above noted, the book really makes known how much of a public figure he became--straight up mythic.

Re: Jack Quaid joins the Cast

Likely playing Richard Feynman (mentioned in Tenet!). Oppenheimer was something of a mentor and advocated for him to be on the Manhattan Project. A smaller but essential figure.

Re: NOPE (2022)

i believe this was shot on film (listed on Kodak’s website). mix of 35mm and 65mm for IMAX. clear why Hoyte was brought on!

Universal is gonna separate themselves from other studios with this sort of showmanship from their premiere filmmakers.
