Favorite Tracks?

Kinda creepy.
It is creepy! But I noticed there's a sound at 3:39 that sound suspiciously like an alarm clock - maybe Batman had an early morning meeting. ;)

What do these musical themes mean in TDKR?

It's funny how once people point something out to you, it seems so obvious afterward. The things you're all saying about the second theme really seem to resonate with me about the emotions of the scene as they relate to Bane: the "animal" and "primal" sound, but also his rage and pain as well. It's ...

What do these musical themes mean in TDKR?

I'm new to this forum, so forgive me if this has been answered in another thread. I've been studying the musical themes of the whole Dark Knight trilogy for a blog I run on film music, and came across two themes in the final fight between Batman and Bane whose meaning isn't entirely clear to me. Par...

TDKR without Newton Howard - Better, worse, different?

I think if JNH had been on board TDKR Zimmer would have put his focus on Bane and Catwoman, and JNH would have had sole obligation of developing even further Bruce's motifs, namely what I call the "Wayne" theme. It could have really added extra fresh character to the film and made it feel more natu...

TDKR without Newton Howard - Better, worse, different?

They're all different scores. BB is emotionally driven. TDK feels more excitement driven. And TDKR is action driven. I personally prefer BB's OST to the other two, but like Jonas, idk if the lack of JNH is the reason. Yes, I prefer BB the most as well. I think JNH wrote the love theme for that film...

TDKR without Newton Howard - Better, worse, different?

As James Newton Howard said in a recent interview, although he added a lot to the scores of the first two Dark Knight films, the main conception of the music was Zimmer's. That said, what does everyone think of Hans Zimmer scoring TDKR solo rather than with Newton Howard as in the previous two films...

Time- Hans Zimmer

Yes, agreed. Especially Rise, since it wraps up the whole trilogy so appropriately.

100% awesome. The climbing scenes do it all for me.

What flaws do you see in Batman Begins.

This is a minor point, but Batman's suit - the head especially - was a bit stiff on him. I love the joking reference to this in the 2nd film when Fox and Wayne are looking at a redesign of the suit and Fox says, "so you want to be able to turn your head".

Favorite track from the Official Soundtrack

I think one of the reasons we all choose Time for this question is not only that it perfectly captures the feeling of the film's ending, but also that it's the most prominent track in the movie. Nowhere else is the music highlighted so that it is the main focus of a scene. So I think it's a combinat...
