TDKR Box Office Opening Weekend

I'm skeptical those who skipped it last weekend will reconsider. Those folks are the ones who'll have the toughest time divorcing the tradgedy from the movie. If anything, they'll see a different film.

I think a 50% drop sounds about right.

Shooting At Colorado TDKR Screening

Wow. Had this package been delivered, tragedy could've been avoided. The man accused of killing a dozen people at a midnight screening of the 'The Dark Knight Rises' sent a journal detailing the rampage to a University of Colorado psychiatrist prior to the attack, only for it to go untouched in a ca...

TDKR Box Office Opening Weekend

I wonder if the Olympics will affect next weekend. Other than that, I expect somewhere around a 20-30 percent drop in revenue. (Less than usual, certainly - I've been hearing rumors of VERY weak Saturday numbers, so an uptick is almost guaranteed.) Not to margenalize the tradgedy, but it'll be inter...

Your Theater's Reaction?

I'm sure some today's tragedy dampened the mood for some.

Shooting At Colorado TDKR Screening

I'm already seeing the effect of this morning's terrorism on my local cinema. The 7:15 PM showing was a little more than half empty. A theatre employee said (predictably, perhaps) the low attendence was unheard-of for such a blockbuster. Sad day, indeed.
