Re: Justice League (2017)

What a massively unrealistic thing to demand. People have rightly mentioned VFX, actor reshoots, marketing, etc. We’re also leaving out sound mixing, and most importantly; SCORE. Do people think Snyder would keep the Elfman score? Ha. Junkie XL probably already got a lot of his fee for JL, and would...

Is Bennett Miller in Director jail?
His last film earned him his second Oscar nom for Best Director, so unlikely. He's probably just in creative jail. Doesn't help he chose a tired story at a failing production company as his next project.

Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4QPVo0UIzc MONEYBALL I don't want to say this movie is underrated, cause I know it got a fair deal of acclaim, but damn does it feel forgotten about. Brad Pitt's portrayal of Billy Beane is deceptively simple and one of his best performances. Wally Pfister crushed it...

Re: The King (2019)

Yeah. You can feel the good intentions, but this is mostly just a slog . It doesn’t work as drama, and it’s visually flat and too dark. In Dolby vision, I had to amp up the gamma considerably just to really “see” it. Everyone watch chimes at midnight instead -Vader https://media1.giphy.com/media/V0...

Re: The King (2019)

I adored this movie tbh. Nicholas Britell won this over for me. The score reflects the king; considered, irenic yet conflicted, and at times full of vigor.

Re: Untitled Spider-Verse Sequel (2022)

Joaquim Dos Santos directed the best episodes of Airbender. His action scenes in that had better pacing than 9/10 blockbuster films, all while never sacrificing the tender moments. Bring it on.

I'm guessing its the helicopter shots in Colorado; The one following the train, and the push up to the hotel on the cliff.

Re: Parasite (2019)

I think this is my favorite movie and theater experience this year. A delicious masterclass on balancing and blending multiple tones and genres. Bong delivers something truly only he can deliver; a hysterical and incredibly tense study on how the violent disparity in wealth poisons so much between t...

Re: Apple's See

Watched the first two episodes last night. Actually got hooked by the end of ep1. Its got some wonky high concept pitfalls, but I can get past it. Like Jax said, it’s stunning looking. Sylvia Hoeks steals whole thing for me.
