Re: Marriage Story (2019)

Curious to what about Blue Valentine don't you find as realistic? I agree that Marriage story does find a good balance of the ordinary moments which brings relatable moments though. Just think the ending is the best case for most divorced couples and usually looks more similar to the first.

Re: Marriage Story (2019)

i think the smaller moments that happen to Charlie are what got me. Things like
Seeing the moms relationship with new boyfriend
just that feeling of not having the same worth and being replaceable.

Re: Marriage Story (2019)

I'm scared to watch Blue Valentine again. But I can see how Marriage Story would fuck with you more. Charlie and Nicole did love each other a lot and still do. I still think love exists towards the end of Blue Valentine as well. Its juts more raw. When everything breaks down and Dean makes a huge s...

Re: The Last Black Man in San Francisco (2019)

Jonathan Majors is probably my favorite supporting role of the year. He steals the film for me.

The scene towards the end where it shows him doing all the same things but without his best friend is just beautiful.

Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

Hollywood Theatre in Portland had a 70mm showing of Dunkirk tonight. I have a hard time saying this isn't Nolans best film. Hoytema is on his A game as well. It's gorgeous.

Also Safdie bros did a podcast with PTA on A24s channel its quite good. Is it spoiler-free? I listened to it on the way to / from work and while I don't remember any, I can't promise they didn't spoil anything. -Vader Did the same. I believe its spoiler free. @Allstar. I enjoyed his role. Uncut Gems

Really good follow up to Good time but suffers from being far more predictable. Good Times pace is relentless while this cant quite capture that same feeling. Sandler is amazing. Visuals and sound are top notch as well.
