If inception came out before the Matrix, then The Matrix would not have been as successful as it was. Cause people won't be blown away as much as the idea of Inception is just more complex.

I heard Nolan already has the same guys signed up for a part 2 of Inception. It's not in the making yet according to rumors, but there are plans to make a part 2. At least that's what I hear.
